London, Dec 6 (ANI): Art experts claim that they have discovered a real-life Da Vinci Code buried in the painters masterpieces.

They have identified a series of inexplicable faces and secret images, which appear when Leonardo Da Vincis precious works are looked at in mirror.

In Dan Browns best selling book The Da Vinci Code, main character Robert Langdon deals with a murder case by cracking clues hidden in the Italian masters paintings.

Da Vinci, who lived between 1452 and 1519, was renowned for employing mirrored writing in his notebooks, so that his concealed thoughts could only be read when reflected.

Now, art experts have used the same method to unearth strange images in well-known works like the Mona Lisa, reports The Sun.

The oil painting of the mystifying beauty seems to have a face, which looks like Star Wars villain Darth Vader. A similar image also comes out mirrored in Saint Anne, The Virgin and Child.

According to the experts, it is meant to symbolize God himself, and inspire fear.

When a mirror is held against the Last Supper, it brings out what looks like the Holy Grail overturned on the table.

Scientists are of the view that the artist accurately shows his real-life code, by using characters to indicate with their fingers where mirrors should be placed.

And they add that the people in the paintings also gaze at the spot.

The images are revealed in new book The Mirror of the Sacred Scriptures and Paintings. (ANI)
