Arrest Warrant Issued Against Ann Pettway

Jan 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The local and the state law enforcement officials have been joined by the Federal investigators in their effort to track down as well as prosecute Ann Pettway, who is suspected of abducting Carlina Renae White way back in 1987, as reported by the law enforcement sources. On Friday, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Ann Pettway in North Carolina, since she is known to have violated her two-year probation sentence on charges of attempted embezzlement. North Carolina Department of Corrections’ spokeswoman Pamela Walker reported on Friday. She also said that the authorities are in search of her since a long time.
Ann Pettway was the woman who is believed to be responsible for kidnapping Carlina White, who at that time was just 19-days-old. She was kidnapped from Harlem Hospital in New York and after a long span of twenty-three years, she was finally reunited with her biological family. Ann Pettway has been declared a probation absconder. Corrections officials of North Carolina Department of Corrections tried a number of times for contacting her after they found out that investigators wish to question her about the abduction that took place 23 years earlier. An arrest warrant that has been issued against her, implies that she is on probation and is not allowed to leave the state till her case gets over.
Carlina, White, on the other hand, had long suspected that Ann Pettway was not her biological mother since the latter could never provide her with a birth certificate. No suspects were identified since Carlina White disappeared from the hospital in 1987. Carlina White is now 23 years old and has recently got united with her original family.
