Dec 17 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A military court has sentence Army birther Lt Col Terrence Lakin. Lakin is the seventeen year Army veteran who refused to deploy to Afghanistan because he does not believe that Unites States President Barack Obama is a natural born citizen of America, which would mean that he does not have the authority to commend the US military. Lakin insisted that because of this, his orders to return to Afghanistan were “illegal.”
According to a report in the Post Chronicle, Lakin’s refusal was an attempt to draw attention to the fact that Obama refuses to supply proof of his citizenship, and is currently fighting several different courts in order to block the release of his original birth certificate. Those who question the birth of Obama being on US soil are called “birthers.”
Lakin plead guilty to disobeying orders, and was sentenced to six months in prison and release from the military. According to the ‘Associated Press’, “The military jury spent nearly five hours deliberating punishment for Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin on Thursday after three days of court martial proceedings at Fort Meade, outside Baltimore. Lakin was convicted of disobeying orders – he had pleaded guilty to that count – and missing a flight that would have gotten him to his eventual deployment. An Army commander, Maj. Gen. Karl Horst, still has to approve the sentence returned by the jury and has the option to reduce it. Lakin could then appeal. He was to begin serving his sentence immediately.”
