Apple gizmos facing from S. Korean challengers

London, Apr. 20 (ANI): Software giant Apple may have revolutionised the world with its must-have gizmos, but there’s a rising threat from the Far East.

South Korea’s Samsung and HTC from Taiwan are gaining momentum.

HTC is already being dubbed “Asia’s Apple”.

Analysts believe Apple’s share of the tablet market will fall from 69 per cent to 47 per cent by 2015.

And smartphones powered by Google’s Android technology rather than Apple already account for 39 per cent of the market.

Apple’s thumping 373-page lawsuit may not keep Samsung awake at night.

But it’s the clearest sign yet that the US giant and its boss Steve Jobs will fight tooth and nail to hold on to the market it helped to create.

The US giant claims the South Korean company is “slavishly” copying its best-selling iPhone and iPad.

It insists Samsung’s Galaxy smartphones and tablets rip off Apple designs and patents - even down to the boxes in which the products are sold.

There is big money at stake. The global market for tablets is set to quadruple to 70million units this year, with demand for smart phones up 60 per cent. (ANI)
