London, February 15 (ANI): A 16-year-old boy has now come forward with the claim that it is he, not 13-year-old Alfie Patten, who is the real father of 15-year-old Chantelle Steadmans newborn daughter.
Richard Goodsell, a trainee chef, even says that he wants a DNA test to prove the paternity of the baby.
He insists that he often shared a bed with Chantelle over a period of three months around the time she fell pregnant.
He claims that he had sex at least three times with Chantelle at her home.
I know I could be the father. Everyone thinks I am. My friends all tell me that baby has my eyes even my mum thinks so, British tabloid News Of The World quoted him as saying.
Only a DNA test is going to sort this out properly. If I am the father, I have the right to know, he added.
Chantelle and Alfie made headlines this week when they vowed to be good parents to their daughter Maisie.
And the matter does not end with Richards claim to be the actual father, for reports even suggest that a third, 14-year-old Tyler Barker also fears that he might have fathered the little girl.
The anxious schoolboy admitted: I slept with Chantelle in her bed about nine months ago and Im really worried I could be the father. I hope its not me. All my mates have been teasing me about it but this isnt funny, its serious.
According to the newspaper, it is suggested that Chantelle was sleeping with as many as eight teenage boys around the time the baby was conceived on the Old Town estate in Eastbourne, Sussex.
Chantelles family, however, insist that it was Alfie to whom she lost her virginity, and that Maisie belongs to the four feet tall boy.
Chantelle claimed she was on the Pill but forgot to take it after a single night of unprotected sex with Alfie, when he was just 12. (ANI)
