Andy Warhol’s children’s book illustration to go under the hammer
November 18th, 2009 - 5:54 pm ICT by ANILondon, Nov 18 (ANI): A children’s book illustration created by Andy Warhol in early years of his career is set to go on sale in New York next month.
The delicate drawings of four storybook animals are expected to fetch 600 dollars at auction to be held on December 9.
The story illustrations due for auction come from the Best In Children’s Books series published in the 1950s, reports the BBC News.
The Little Red Hen shows the hen toiling in a field while a lazy cat, dog and mouse look on.
Auction house Bloomsbury said the volumes up for sale had “lightly worn dust jackets with some minor chips”. (ANI)
