An earthquake in Alamagan Reg., Northern Mariana Islands

GuamThere was an earthquake in Alamagan Reg., Northern Mariana Islands with the magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter scale.

The earthquake occurred on Wednesday, October 08, 2008 at 00:48:52 UTC (Coordinated Universal Time )and Wednesday, October 08, 2008 at 10:48:52 AM at epicenter epicenter local time as reported by the U.S. Geological Survey.

The epicenter is 95 km (60 miles) ESE of Pagan, Northern Mariana Islands, 135 km (85 miles) SE of Agrihan, Northern Mariana Islands, 315 km (195 miles) NNE of SAIPAN, Northern Mariana Islands, 535 km (330 miles) NNE of HAGATNA, Guam with the depth of 25.9 km (16.1 miles) and location 17.933°N, 146.629°E.

Previously, a powerful 7.1 earthquake rocked the Pacific Ocean near Guam and the quake occurred about 215 miles south-southeast of Guam which was last year.
