There was an earthquake in Andreanof Islands, Aleutian Is., Alaska with the magnitude of 4.8 on the Richter scale.
The quake occurred on Thursday, October 09, 2008 at 01:00:55 UTC (Coordinated Universal Time ) and Wednesday, October 08, 2008 at 04:00:55 PM at epicenter local time as reported by the U.S. Geological Survey.
The epicenter is 87 km (54 miles) SE (140°) from Atka, AK, 225 km (140 miles) E (97°) from Adak, AK, 343 km (213 miles) WSW (246°) from Nikolski, AK, 1788 km (1111 miles) WSW (244°) from Anchorage, AK with the depth of 44.7 km (27.8 miles) and location 51.597°N, 173.406°W.
Yesterday, there was an earthquake with the magnitude of 2.3 Richter in Alaska.
