An earthquake at Andreanof Islands

AlaskaThere was an earthquake in Andreanof Islands, Aleutian Is., Alaska with the magnitude of 4.8 on the Richter scale.

The quake occurred on Thursday, October 09, 2008 at 01:00:55 UTC (Coordinated Universal Time ) and Wednesday, October 08, 2008 at 04:00:55 PM at epicenter local time as reported by the U.S. Geological Survey.

The epicenter is 87 km (54 miles) SE (140°) from Atka, AK, 225 km (140 miles) E (97°) from Adak, AK, 343 km (213 miles) WSW (246°) from Nikolski, AK, 1788 km (1111 miles) WSW (244°) from Anchorage, AK with the depth of 44.7 km (27.8 miles) and location 51.597°N, 173.406°W.

Yesterday, there was an earthquake with the magnitude of 2.3 Richter in Alaska.
