London, Feb 6 (IANS) British singer Lily Allen accused the British press of printing negative stories on her as she refused to co-operate with them. The 23-year-old Allen thinks negative stories are printed about her because she does not “play the game” with the press, reports

She said: “I’m not one of those people who say, ‘I couldn’t have done it without you’. I’m like, ‘F**k off!’ And they get incensed. I don’t want to be your friend. You’re going to write about me. They come up and talk to you at events and the next day you re-read it and it’s like, ‘You f**king c**t!’ Because I don’t play the game, like having my publicist ring up (the newspapers) and say I’m seeing this guy, get a photo of us. The thought of doing that makes me physically ill.”

She compares her relationship with the media to beginning a new romance adding: “If you keep them at an arm’s length, they want you. And the British press are like that with me because I say, ‘No thank you’.”
