Sep 25, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The plea to stop the execution of Albert Greenwood Brown Jr. was canceled by the federal judge on Friday evening. Albert Greenwood Brown Jr, who was convicted for kidnapping, raping and murdering a fifteen year old riverside girl, in 1980, about twenty tears ago, will be subjected to lethal injection on Sep 29.
The young teenager, Susan Jordon was returning from Arlington High School in Riverside, after completing her morning classes. Albert Greenwood Brown, who at that time was just released from jail, for another rape case of a fourteen year old girl in 1977, repeated the same thing one again with this girl. This time, he called Susan Jordon’s mother, and broke the news that her daughter is dead. When the authorities tracked him, he was put under trial for several years to hear a final death sentence this Friday
After the recent legitimization of lethal punishment by the US Judicial system, U.S. District Judge Jeremy Fogel left it on Albert Greenwood Brown to decide whether he would like to die under the impact of one such injection or three of them. The convict’s attorneys did not attend his final hearing, which signifies that they failed to prove that their client, Albert Greenwood Brown, would suffer both cruel and unusual punishment if executed. Despite several trials by his lawyers, Jeremy Fogel, recommended his execution with the help of only Sodium Thiopental. The dose would increase from 3 grams to 5 grams, to make the drug more fatal.
Albert Greenwood brown, yet has another chance of saving his life, requesting a plea to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, to reject Jeremy Fogel’s decision. The one who are the happiest with this decision are the Jordons, who are satisfied with the way their late sister is given justice by the court.
