June 2, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The number three leader of the Al-Qaida, Sheikh Sa-id al-Yazid, has been killed along with his relatives recently. The exact date of the death has not been given out, but according to reports, the militant leader had been killed by a drone attack by the United States army. The incident apparently occurred in Pakistan. However, there can be no saying as to how authentic the reports are, considering that this would not be the first time that the Al-Qaida have released the news of the death of one of its high ranking officials, reports which only cause trigger widespread disbelief and a whole lot confusion.
The Al-Qaida released the news in a number of Jihadist websites, mentioning how terrible a blow it is going to be to the terrorist organization and is operations all over the world. The White House too echoed the opinion, saying that if the report turns out to be true, then the US military has certainly dealt a severe blow to the militant organization, as they would have lost a value and experienced member. According to a White House official, the news of the death of Sheikh Sa-id al-Yazid has been spreading for the last two weeks, in mainly the tribal areas of Pakistan.
However, this is not the first time that Sheikh Sa-id al-Yazid has been reported dead. Like many of the other leaders of the Al-Qaida, he had also been reported dead earlier. However, never before had the news been acknowledged by the organization itself. If the news turns out to be true, the Al-Qaida would be left crippled, having lost both their internal and external operations chiefs last year.
