Airline captain dies while flying plane from Philippines to Qatar
October 14th, 2010 - 3:14 pm ICT by ANILondon, Oct 14 (ANI): An airline captain passed away midair as he was flying a plane from Philippines to Qatar, forcing the plane to be diverted to the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur.
The Qatar Airways captain, whose name has not been revealed, had been in charge of Flight QR645, operating from Manila to Doha, the Daily Mail reported.
The plane was halted for less than two hours and a new crew came onboard and the flight continued on for Doha.
The airline has declined to elaborate on the cause of death or release the name of the deceased pilot.
Qatar Airways said that its priority “remains the comfort and safety of its passengers and staff”. (ANI)
