Air Force F-22 Fighter Jet Crashes Near Anchorage, Search For Missing Pilot On

Joint Base Elemendorf-Richardson, Nov 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The wreckage of an Air Force F-22 fighter jet that met with an accident during a training exercise along the remote area of Alaska was found on Wednesday, authorities have confirmed. However, as of now any information about the fate of the pilot, whose name has been kept under wraps, has not been available. However, according to Air Force officials, a thorough aerial search has been undertaken by the rescue teams to know the whereabouts of the pilot who has been missing till now.
The fighter jet Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor was on a routine training session on Tuesday when it lost contact with the air traffic control while it was returning to the base along with another plane. The pilot who was on the second plane attempted to search for the missing fighter jet on Tuesday night but to no avail. Following the incident, the Air Force released a statement that read rescue teams were soon dispatched to the area which is located at a distance of 161 km in the northern direction of Anchorage. Colonel Jack McMullen, who is the commander of the Air Force 3rd Wing has confirmed that the wreckage of the site was recovered on Wednesday morning by the crew of the Alaska National Guard helicopter.
Meanwhile, Colonel Jack McMullen also went on to say that at the moment the first priority was to ensure that the pilot is brought home safely while adding that the Air Force officials are taking all the necessary steps to carry out the search operation to know the whereabouts of the missing pilot.
