Ahmadinejad visits Cuba
January 12th, 2012 - 8:02 am ICT by IANSHavana, Jan 12 (IANS) Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived here Wednesday on a one-day official visit.
He was received by Cuban Vice President Esteban Lazo at the airport, Xinhua reported.
The Iranian president was expected to meet Cuban leader Raul Castro later during the day.
He will give a speech at the Havana University before laying a wreath at the memorial of Cuban national hero Jose Marti.
His visit to Cuba is part of a four-nation Latin America tour that also includes Venezuela, Nicaragua and Ecuador.
He was scheduled to leave Havana Thursday for Quito.
Cuba and Iran have collaborative ties, supporting each other at international political forums.
