Afghan province governor injured in suicide blast
May 28th, 2011 - 8:31 pm ICT by IANSKabul, May 28 (IANS) The governor of a northern Afghanistan province was injured Saturday in a suicide bomb attack at his house in the provincial capital, Xinhua reported.
Abdul Jabbar Taqwa, governor of Takhar province, was injured in the suicide blast in Taluqan city, said Faizullah Tawhidi, spokesman for the governor.
The spokesman also confirmed that police chief of northern region Gen. Mohammad Daud Daud and police chief of Takhar province Shah Jahan Nuri were also injured in the explosion.
