Kabul, March 9 (Xinhua) Two Taliban insurgents were killed and three injured in a gun battle between the rebels and police officials in Afghanistan’s northwest Badghis province, the interior ministry said Sunday. The gun-battle occurred in Qadis district Saturday when the militants opened fire at a police station. The police returned fire, killing two rebels on the spot and wounding three others, it said in a statement.
The ministry said the Afghan police also captured one more rebel during the clash.
