Accident victim’s family donates blood for blast victimsSeptember 14th, 2008 - 11:21 pm ICT by IANS
New Delhi, Sep 14 (IANS) Parents and relatives of Anuj Aditya Singh, who was killed in a road accident involving a BMW car here Thursday, went to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital Sunday to donate blood for victims of the serial bomb blasts.”I have come here to donate blood for the victims of the bomb blasts. I can understand the pain and grief of the relatives of the victim,” said Anuj’s mother Usha Chauhan with misty eyes.
Anuj’s father Rajendra Prasad Chauhan said: “We came here to donate blood.”
He also added: “We don’t want those rich persons who drive recklessly on capital roads without caring for others to be left unpunished.”
Around 15 relatives of Anuj, including his parents, had gone to the hospital to donate blood. “However, only four of them were able to donate blood, as the blood supply was sufficient at the hospital. Hospital authorities have told us they will contact us in a few days when they would require blood,” said a close family friend.
The BMW car hit the motorcycle driven by Mrigank Srivastav near the Moolchand flyover in south Delhi early Thursday. Anuj, pillion-riding, succumbed to his injuries and died at the AIIMS Saturday while Mrigank is undergoing treatment.
