New Delhi, May 18 (IANS) Indian national Mohammed Nayeem, who was kidnapped from Afghanistan’s Herat province last month, has been released by his captors, the ministry of external affairs said here Sunday. Nayeem, who was abducted April 22, worked as an engineer with Dubai-based HEB International Logistics.
While no group had claimed responsibility for his abduction, it was believed to be the work of one of the numerous terror gangs operating in the country.
Nayeem, 39, hails from Mangalore in the southern Indian state of Karnataka and is a father of three children.
While the ministry confirmed his release, it did not give details about his captors.
