850 ill due to chlorine poisoning in Egypt
May 30th, 2011 - 6:59 pm ICT by IANSCairo, May 30 (IANS/RIA Novosti) More than 850 people fell ill due to chlorine poisoning after toxic gas leaked from a shop in Egypt’s north, a media report said Monday.
The incident occurred on the outskirts of Disuk town, the Masrawy website reported. All the affected people were taken to hospital and rescuers were working at the scene of the leak.
Chorine gas causes burning of the lung tissue and asphyxia when breathed.
