75 missing as trawler capsizes in Bangladesh
July 31st, 2011 - 1:21 am ICT by IANSDhaka, July 30 (IANS) At least 75 people went missing in Bangladesh Saturday after a trawler capsized in Buriganga river near capital Dhaka Saturday night.
The accident occurred when a small cargo vessel collided with a trawler carrying around 100 passengers Saturday night, leaving the trawler upside down and 75 passengers missing at 8.15 p.m, private new agency UNB quoted police and locals as saying.
Around 20 passengers of the capsized trawler, however, managed to swim ashore.
Meanwhile, several rescue teams of firefighting units were conducting search for the missing passengers till last reports.
