75 dead in Philippine landslides
October 9th, 2009 - 11:00 am ICT by IANSManila, Oct 9 (DPA) At least 75 people were killed in a series of landslides brought about by days of heavy rains in the northern Philippines, officials said Friday.
Seventy two remained missing in the landslides, which occurred in Benguet and Mountain provinces since Thursday.
The northern Philippines has been battered by heavy rains brought about by weakened typhoon Parma, which has been hovering over the area since the weekend.
