Raipur, July 7 (IANS) Two men who were abducted by Maoist rebels last week for acting as “police informers”, were found dead Monday from a forest in Chhattisgarh’s restive Bastar region, police said. Though the two men were killed two days ago, their bodies were found in separate places in a thick forest Monday morning while police teams were conducting a combing operation in Dantewada and Bijapur districts, a police official said.

While 55-year-year-old Patri Baloji’s body was found in a forest in Bijapur, the body of Barsa Buddu, 50, was recovered from Dantewada, he added.

Police confirmed that both victims were police informers and had been abducted by rebels last week.
