6.0-magnitude quake hits Indonesia
November 28th, 2010 - 5:54 am ICT by IANSJakarta, Nov 28 (IANS) A moderate quake with magnitude 6.0 on the Richter scale struck off eastern Indonesia early Sunday, officials said.
The quake occurred at 01:11 a.m. with epicentre at 246 km southeast Melonguane area of North Sulawesi province and with the depth at 10 km under sea bed, Xinhua reported quoting an official of the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency.
The USGS measured the intensity of the quake as magnitude-5.8 with the depth at 62.8 km under sea bed.
Agam Ferdatama, on official at the Disaster Mitigation and Management Agency, said there were no initial reports of building damages or injuries.
