5.5-magnitude quake off Japan’s Honshu
April 2nd, 2011 - 1:02 am ICT by IANSTokyo, April 1 (IANS) An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale was recorded off the east coast of Japan’s Honshu island Friday, the US Geological Survey said.
The quake’s epicentre, at a depth of 20.50 km, was initially determined to be at 40.3563 degrees north latitude and 143.1775 degrees east longitude.
The quake struck at 17.03 GMT.
