5.4-magnitude quake hits China
November 1st, 2011 - 6:54 am ICT by IANSBeijing, Nov 1 (IANS) An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale hit west China Tuesday. But there were no immediate reports of any casualties.
The quake, which struck at 5.58 a.m. (local time), jolted the border area of Sichuan and Gansu provinces of the country, the Xinhua quoted the China Earthquake Networks Center as saying.
The tremblor’s epicentre, with a depth of 20 km, was monitored at about 32.6 degrees north latitude and 105.3 degrees east longitude, the center said in a statement.
