fireworks3As all Americans unite themselves for the annual celebration of the Independence day all over the country, major cities drape themselves into colorful attire and the special attraction is the firework displays.

San Francisco was no exception to this celebration as many tourists flocked in to the city to catch hold of the firework display. The best spot to catch up the light show turned out to be the Bay Bridge which is the most sought after location every year. Other two favorite viewing locations were the fisherman’s wharf and the Piers 3 along the Embarcadero. The later location is quite a happening place during the celebrations as there are quite a number of bars and some minor events also took place. All fireworks across the major cities including San Francisco commenced at 9.3o p.m. in the evening.

This year the skies were clear and fog free delivering a spectacular view of the fireworks across the Bay. Apart from the regular party goers and strollers, many foreigners namely French , Germans and Russians were also found enjoying the display.

A 20 years old Los Angeles resident who have come down to San Francisco has said, “I love seeing fireworks by the water. But it’s freezing.” She attaches a special significance to this years independence day celebrations saying that its the first 4th July celebration after Barrack Obama became the President and gladly remarked, “i am proud to be an American.”

Many celebrated the event by joining crows in the Almeda’s parade, attending minor city celebrations while others choose to go over a barbecue in the backyards of their homes.
