48 dead in Vietnam flood
October 8th, 2010 - 4:36 am ICT by IANSHanoi, Oct 8 (IANS) Floods triggered by torrential rains since Sunday have claimed 48 lives in Vietnam, the government said.
The Vietnamese Central Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control said among the deaths, five people were from Nghe An province, seven from Ha Tinh, 33 from Quang Binh and three from Quang Tri.
According to the committee, 19 people were injured while 18 were still missing, Xinhua reported citing the Vietnam News Agency.
