46 die in China mine blast (Second Lead)
June 21st, 2010 - 9:13 pm ICT by IANSBeijing, June 21 (IANS) Forty-six miners were killed Monday in a coalmine blast in eastern China, Xinhua reported.
The blast occurred around 1.40 a.m. at Xingdong Number 2 Mine in Pingdingshan city of Henan province, officials said.
Seventy-two miners were at the mine, but 26 of them survived. The cause of the blast was not immediately known.
