43 killed in China plane crash (Lead)
August 25th, 2010 - 1:55 am ICT by IANSBeijing, Aug 25 (IANS) At least 43 people were killed and 53 injured when a passanger plane overshot the runway while landing at an airport in northeast China Tuesday night, authorities said Wednesday.
The bodies of 43 passengers were recovered from the wreckage of the plane which crashed at 9.36 p.m. in Yichun city of Heilongjiang province , an official told Xinhua.
The injured passengers have been hospitalised, said Hua Jingwei, a local spokesperson.
The E-190 jet of Henan Airlines was engulfed in blaze after it crashed.
