4 injured in Karachi grenade attack
November 26th, 2011 - 11:53 pm ICT by IANSIslamabad, Nov 26 (IANS) At least four people were injured when unknown miscreants attacked a shop with handgrenade and guns in Pakistan’s southern port city of Karachi Saturday night, reported Xinhua citing local Urdu TV channel Samaa.
According to the report, the incident took place when two gunmen coming on motorcycle hurled a handgrenade and opened fire at a liquor shop in the Lee market area of the city.
The assailants fled the scene after the attack, said local police.
No group has claimed the responsibility for the attack.
Liquor is strictly forbidden in the Muslim country of Pakistan. However, smuggled liquor is available in the market. On Saturday, five people in Pakistan’s central city of Multan reportedly died of drinking poisonous alcohol.
