38 die in Iran mosque attack (Second Lead)
December 15th, 2010 - 6:23 pm ICT by IANSTehran, Dec 15 (IANS) At least 38 people were killed and scores injured when a powerful bomb tore through a mosque in southeastern Iran Wednesday, state-run IRNA news agency reported.The explosion took place at the Imam Hossein Mosque in Chabahar city in Sistan-Balouchestan province when a large number of faithful were mourning the martyrdom of the third Imam of Shias.
Fariborz Ayati, director general of the provincial Forensic Medicine Office, said 38 bodies had been brought in. He said a number of women and children were among the victims.
