San Salvador (El Salvador), July 4 (IANS) Around 30 people were missing Friday in El Salvador after their bus fell into a river in the south-western province of La Libertad, Spain’s EFE news agency reported. According to initial reports, around 30 people, including children, were missing after their bus fell into the Acelhuate river in Malaga district of the province.
The accident occurred around 0300 GMT Friday, aid workers said. The driver lost control of the vehicle, they added.
The victims were returning to their homes after attending a religious ceremony, officials said. Four people have escaped to safety.
Many people have been reported missing in incidents related to floods across the La Libertad province.
