25 killed in Iraq truck bombing
July 3rd, 2012 - 5:48 pm ICT by IANSBaghdad, July 3 (IANS) At least 25 people were killed and 75 wounded Tuesday when a booby-trapped truck blew up at a busy marketplace in a southern province in Iraq, Xinhua reported.
The bombing took place in Diwaniyah, capital of Muthanna province, police said.
The blast ripped through the market in al-Urouba neighbourhood of Diwaniyah, around 180 km south of Baghdad.
Security forces sealed off the scene, while ambulances and civilian cars evacuated the victims to hospital. A traffic ban was imposed in the area.
