24 workers trapped in China coal mine blast
May 14th, 2010 - 9:38 am ICT by IANSBeijing, May 14 (IANS) At least 24 workers were trapped underground after a gas explosion in a coal mine in southwest China Thursday, Xinhua reported.A total of 31 miners were working in a shaft of Yuanyang Colliery in Guizhou province, rescuers said, adding that seven of them managed to escape.
Investigations are on to ascertain the cause of the accident.
