23 suffer burns in China plant blast
December 18th, 2011 - 6:36 am ICT by IANSBeijing, Dec 18 (IANS) As many as 23 workers were injured after an explosion occurred at a factory in China’s Shanghai city Saturday, the Shanghai municipal government stated.
The incident took place in the afternoon as the police received a fire report from a plant run by RiTeng Computer Accessory Co. Ltd in the city’s Songjiang district, Xinhua reported.
Police, fire tenders and medical workers were rushed to the site.
A total of 61 workers sent to hospital for medical checkup, of which 23 had to be hospitalised for burns. No death were reported in the incident.
