20 Taliban militants killed in Afghanistan

Pul-e-Khumri (Afghanistan), April 18 (IANS) Afghan troops backed by NATO-led forces killed 20 militants in the northern Afghan province of Baghlan, police said Sunday.
“Twenty militants have been killed and 12 sustained injuries since Saturday afternoon in Baghlan-e-Markazi district,” said police spokesman Lal Mohammad Ahmadzi.
The fighting follows gunfights and roadside bombings in the area Thursday that left four German soldiers and three policemen dead, Xinhua reported.
