19yr-old Chinese boy gets 18 months in jail for stealing corpses
August 4th, 2009 - 4:46 pm ICT by ANINew Delhi, August 4 (ANI): A 19-year-old boy in China has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for stealing eight corpses from graves, and blackmailing the bereaved families.
Huang, a junior high school dropout, first stole a corpse, along with the casket, in December last year, hours after the funeral ceremony.
According to the China Daily, the boy left a note on the grave demanding money in return for the corpse.
The report further revealed that by April this year, Huang had stolen eight corpses before being arrested.
He was finally sentenced to imprisonment by a court in Chongzhou, Sichuan province, on Tuesday. (ANI)
