November 15th, 2011 - 9:33 pm ICT by IANSDhaka, Nov 15 (IANS) Police in Bangladesh have seized 18,000 textbooks meant to be distributed free of cost and arrested three people for trying to sell them.
The books of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board are meant for free distribution among primary school students throughout the country, the Daily Star reported Tuesday.
Police said the three accused brought the textbooks from different parts of the country to sell to booksellers in Dhaka. They were arrested Monday while unloading the books from a truck into a warehouse.
A senior textbook board member said some officials may be involved in selling the textbooks in the market.
