London, May 9 (ANI): Noemi Letizia, the 18-year-old accused of being at the heart of Silvio Berlusconi’s divorce, has claimed that she has no inappropriate connection with the Italian Prime Minister.

Letizia told The Times that she was “absolutely not” the illegitimate daughter of Berlusconi, whom she affectionately calls “Papi”.

In the first interview since the scandal broke, Letizia and her family dismissed claims of having inapt relationship with Berlusconi - but refused to clarify how or when they began to count him as a personal friend.

The moment that Veronica Lario, Berlusconi’s wife, announced their divorce with the words, “I cannot be with a man who spends time with under-age women”, Letizia came under the media glare.

The buzz started that Belusconi had attended the teenager’s 18th birthday party last weekend, presenting her with a gold and diamond necklace. The visit infuriated his wife.

Noemi and her parents attempted to scotch the speculation.

Now, while speaking to The Times at their apartment in Portici, south of Naples, the family dismissed the suggestion that she could be the illegitimate child of the Prime Minister.

“No, absolutely not. That’s my dad, over there,” she said, pointing to the smartly dressed man by her side. (ANI)
