17 killed in China bus accident
June 20th, 2012 - 7:51 am ICT by IANSBeijing, June 20 (IANS) At least 17 people died in China early Wednesday when the bus in which they were travelling plunged into a ravine.
The accident took place around 2 a.m. on an expressway in Xiapu county of eastern Fujian province, authorities said. The vehicle was carrying 45 people.
The bus overturned and fell into a 50-meter ravine, said Yang Peiqin, secretary of the Xiapu county committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
The injured were rushed to hospital, Xinhua quoted Yang as saying.
