17 dogs killed in Britain arson (Lead)
November 13th, 2010 - 8:33 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Nov 13 (IANS) Seventeen pet dogs were burnt to death when unidentified arsonists set fire to a barn of hay in a farm in Britain, a media report said Saturday.
A year-old pup Kenny was the only survivor when the kennels got burnt in Gelligaer town in south Wales, The Sun reported.
Owner Shane Coughlan, 26, said: “I arrived to see our stables and kennels on fire. I set the horses free and then went to the kennels. I thought it was hopeless. I felt like crying.”
Rescuers heard the tiny dog whimpering and dragged him to safety as he cowered from the smoke and flames in the blazing building.
Kenny’s face and legs were badly burnt, but vets say he will make a full recovery.
