17 die in Peru road accident
April 2nd, 2011 - 3:54 am ICT by IANSLima, April 2 (IANS) Seventeen people were killed and 42 wounded Friday when their bus crashed into a cliff in Peru, Xinhua reported.
Some 60 people were in the bus when it crashed in the Peruvian Andes mountains, police said.
In another bus accident, 40 people were injured, 10 critically. The accident occurred in the Paramonga area, about 200 km north of Lima.
About 3,500 people die in road accidents in Peru every year, according to official statistics.
