15 Palestinians detained in Gaza
March 24th, 2010 - 6:09 pm ICT by IANSGaza, March 24 (IANS) At least 15 Palestinians were detained Wednesday in a raid near Israel’s southern border with the Gaza Strip, an eye-witness said.
Israeli special forces cracked down on around 20 people collecting stones in Beit Lahiya town in northern Gaza early Wednesday. Later, people under 16 years were released but 15 were detained, Xinhua news agency reported quoting a 13-year-old witness.
The Gaza-Israel border has been volatile after Palestinian militants fired rockets into Israel last week.
Early Wednesday morning, an Israeli aircraft fired two missiles at a group of Palestinian militants in northern Gaza, but the gunmen escaped the attack.
