Kabul, June 25 (IANS) At least 15 people were killed and 45 injured in a suicide car bombing in Afghanistan Saturday, officials said.
The blast took place in Azra district of Logar province, 60 km south of capital Kabul.
“The blast happened close to a hospital leaving 15 people dead and wounding 45 others, most of them civilians,” Deen Mohammad Darvish, spokesman for the provincial administration, told Xinhua.
Another official, however, said the toll could go up to 30 people.
Sediq Sedeqi, spokesman for the Afghan interior ministry, confirmed it was a suicide attack targeted at a clinic.
Officials blamed the Taliban, but a Taliban spokesman said the blast was caused by “someone with an agenda”, BBC reported.
