1,400 cadets join Afghan army
December 18th, 2011 - 11:13 pm ICT by IANSKabul, Dec 18 (IANS) A total of 1,400 cadets Sunday joined the Afghan National Army (ANA) after completing their two-month training, Xinhua reported.
“The newly graduated soldiers are ready to be deployed to any part of the country to provide security to their people,” Shaheen Corps Commander Amanullah Mobin said at the graduation ceremony in Mazar-i Sharif city.
The Afghan government and NATO have stepped up efforts to train and equip the army and the police, ahead of the full security takeover from the coalition troops in 2014.
