12 killed in Iraq car bombings
January 16th, 2012 - 10:09 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Baghdad, Jan 16 (IANS) At least 12 people were killed and 35 wounded Monday in two car bombings in Iraq, Xinhua reported.
The first car bomb exploded around 8 a.m. at al-Ghadier, 20 km from the northern city of Mosul, police said. At least nine people, including women and children, were killed.
The blast damaged many houses, shops and cars. Security forces cordoned off the bomb scene while experts defused another car bomb in the same area.
Around noon, another car bomb exploded in Nadir district of Hilla city, around 100 km from Baghdad, killing three people and wounding 15 others, an interior ministry official said.
