Jan 27 (THAINDIAN NEWS) When Jordon Brown was arrested and charged as an adult for murder in the shooting death of his father’s pregnant girlfriend, he was only eleven years old. A Superior Court panel which was made up of three judges met on Tuesday in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to hear testimony from both sides of the case as to whether or not the boy should be tried in court as an adult on murder charges.

This came after a judge in Lawrence County refused to have the boy’s case moved to a juvenile court back in March. Judge Dominick Motto states that Jordon Brown seemed to show no signs that he was sorry, nor did he take any responsibility for the shooting. Jordon, who is thirteen years old now, was charged with shooting twenty six year old Kenzie Marie Houl, and causing her death, as well as the death of her unborn baby with a shotgun.

Houk’s mother issued a statement revealing her feelings on the subject, “I lost my baby and my grandson. My daughter’s not coming back. My two little girls lost a mother and a brother they waited on. So, what gives you the right to think that he can walk away? And they did nothing. So, my hope is that it’s done right and I’m sure it will. The system has been fair.”

If Brown is convicted as an adult, he will face life in prison, but would be free at the age of 21 if tried in a juvenile court. It could take weeks or even months before the panel is able to reach a decision in this case.
