11 Philippine soldiers killed in rebel attack
March 6th, 2010 - 8:06 pm ICT by IANSManila, March 6 (IANS) Eleven soldiers were killed and three wounded Saturday in an ambush by Communist guerrillas in the central Philippines, Xinhua reported.
The soldiers were attacked when they reached a village in Mansalay township where the New People’s Army (NPA) had been collecting “revolutionary tax” from civilians.
The NPA has been waging a guerrilla campaign for four decades in the country.
