Abuja, Jan 23 (IANS) Eleven more people died in terror attacks in Nigeria, bringing the toll in the violence in this west African nation during the past four days to more than 160.

The latest victims, from the northeastern Bauchi state, were killed Sunday.

State police commissioner Ikechukwu Aduba said the fatalities occurred when gunmen, suspected to be armed robbers, attacked a hotel and a bank in Bununu district of Bauchi, Xinhua reported Monday.

Ten unexploded IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices) were also recovered at the scenes of the blasts in Bauchi. Six people were arrested in connection with the explosions.

The Bauchi violence came barely two days after coordinated terror attacks in northern Kano state left over 120 people dead. Friday’s attacks were carried out after the state government refused to free jailed militants.
