11 members of drug gang killed in Mexico
August 13th, 2010 - 11:22 pm ICT by IANSMexico City, Aug 13 (IANS/EFE) Eleven members of a drug gang were killed in fighting with soldiers in northwestern Mexico, an official said Friday.
Three troops were wounded in the clash in Santiago Papasquiaro town of Durango state.
About 28,000 people have died in drug-related violence since President Felipe Calderon declared war on drug gangs after taking office in December 2006.
